June 6, 2018. In Sainte-Marie-du-Mont and in the presence of French officials, American soldiers and dozens of spectators who came to commemorate the success of the Allied armies, the D-Day Overlord Association honored the leaders engaged on the ground during Operation Overlord. Link.


June 9th, 2017. On the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the Normandy landings, the D-Day Overlord association, in partnership with Maisy Battery Museum and the Grandcamp-Maisy Commune, organized a ceremony commemorating the assault of the battery by the 5th Ranger Battalion. This event took place at the exact location of the battlefield, 73 years to the day after the end of the fighting. Link.

June 5th, 2017. Inaugurated in Carentan, this stele commemorates the American military engineers of the 300th Engineer Combat Battalion and in particular Major John E. Tucker who worked for the setting up of crossing points during the Battle of Normandy. He has sacrificed his life on June 27, 1944 in Carentan during an artillery fire. This monument is located near the remains of one of these bridges on the Taute River connecting Carentan to Saint-Hilaire-Petitville. Link.

June 2nd, 2017. The WW2 Foundation, an American non-profit association dedicated to the memory of the World War 2, chose the Cotentin Peninsula and the 73rd anniversary of the Normandy landing to organize the first international World War II film festival. This festival gathered thirty films and documentaries, broadcast at the cinema Le Cotentin de Carentan: these creations have been realized all over the world, from China to Brazil via France and the United States. Three Band of Brothers actors (James Madio, Rick Warden and Ross McCall) attended the invitation of Tim Gray, President of the WW2 Foundation, to encourage the development of this first edition. June 2nd, 2017. The traditional Cabbage Patch Square ceremony took place in Carentan in the presence of American veterans and military personnel, including General Andrew P. Poppas, commander of the 101st Airborne Division, honored by French civilian and military authorities (represented by the Prefecture, Department of Cotentin as well as the Town hall of Carentan). Veterans were decorated with the French Legion of Honor medal on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of the landing of Normandy. Link.

June 1st, 2017. The D-Day Overlord Association paid tribute to the American pilots and personnel of the 358th Fighter Group (USAAF) installed at the castle of Franquetot from 3 July to 14 August 1944. This ceremony took place in the presence of Denis Lebarbier, Mayor of Coigny, Lieutenant-Colonel Timothy Weiher of the American Air Force, accompanied by a military detachment, and Nathalie d & Gérard Mary, Tresurer and Vice-President for the Cotentin Peninsula of the D-Day Overlord Association. June 6, 2016: ceremony at the Major Dick R. Winters Memorial (Departmental Road 913 to Utah Beach) in honor of American Paratroopers of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, organized by the Utah Beach Museum in partnership with the D-Day Overlord Association. Link.

June 6, 2016 at Colleville-Montgomery (Sword Beach). Commandos ceremony in the presence of veteran Léon Gautier and in memory of Commando Kieffer who landed on D-Day at Sword Beach. The tribute was organized by the municipality with the Amicale nationale des fusiliers marins et commandos. The DDay-Overlord association has joined in this tribute by participating in the wreaths laying. Link.

5 June 2016: The D-Day Overlord association took part in the construction of the monument "Filthy 13" inaugurated in Brévands. For the second consecutive year, we honor them by participating in this commemorative ceremony in the presence of veterans. Link.

June 4, 2016: The D-Day Overlord association, through its "Poppies of the Commonwealth" sponsorship program, keeps a record of the soldiers killed during the Second World War under Commonwealth command and buried in Normandy. A ceremony was organized in their honor, in the presence of the Royal British Legion - Paris Branch - and high school students from Neuilly-sur-Seine (France). Link.

June 3, 2016: The Mayor of Carentan organized several ceremonies in honor of the US airborne and airborne troops of the 101st Airborne Division. The D-Day Overlord association participated in these commemorations and in particular in the various wreaths laying ceremonies. Link.

29 May 2016: The D-Day Overlord association participated in the official ceremonies organized by the American Battle Monument Commission on the occasion of the Memorial Day at the Colleville-sur-Mer American military cemetery. Link.


June 7, 2015: a conference on the commemorations of the Normandy landing was organized by the D-Day Overlord association at the Sainte-Honorine-des-Pertes social and cultural hall, in the presence of veteran Bernard Dargols and Helen Patton, granddaughter of general. Link.

June 7, 2015: The D-Day Overlord association participated in the ceremony organized by the WWII Foundation at the Winters Monument in Sainte-Marie-du-Mont (Utah Beach) in the presence of actors  of the Band Of Brothers minieserie. Link.

June 6, 2015: The Royal British Legion -Paris Branch- and the D-Day Overlord Association organized a ceremony at the Bayeux Military Cemetery to honor the memory of the Commonwealth armed forces engaged during the Battle of Normandy. On the occasion of this commemorative ceremony, the sponsorship program of Normandy wars graves called "Poppies of the Commonwealth" was symbolically inaugurated. Link.

June 6, 2015: D-Day Overlord participates in the official ceremonies organized by the municipality of Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer, Omaha Beach, in tribute to the American land forces in the framework of the 71st anniversary of the landing and the battle Of Normandy. Link.
